Welcome to The Guild of the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg Manitoba
The Guild of the Victoria General Hospital was originally established in 1954 at the River Avenue location as an extension to the existing hospital Auxiliary. In 1970 the Auxiliary and the Guild amalgamated under the name of "The Guild of the Victoria General Hospital". In 1971 the hospital moved to the Pembina Highway site, inviting community members to become involved in the Guild as volunteers.
Our mission statement is: THE GUILD OF THE VICTORIA HOSPITAL IS COMMITTED TO ENHANCING PATIENT CARE AND SERVICES WITHIN THE HOSPITAL.
We are a non-partisan / non-sectarian organization with approximately 400 active senior and junior volunteer members directly involved in working in patient and non-patient care areas. We also raise funds to help finance equipment and furnishings for the hospital.
How We Raise Funds Our largest source of funds is the Hospital Gift Shop, which is managed and staffed entirely by volunteers. Other fundraisers include Annual Craft & Christmas Pantry Sale, Annual Bridge Party, and special events such as raffles, used book sales and providing hair dresser services within the hospital.
We receive donations made strictly as a donation or as a memorial in memory of friends and family. Donations can be made to the order of "The Guild of the Victoria Hospital" sent in care of:
