Historically, wild plants have been used to treat everything
from the common cold to the pain of childbirth. Early peoples,
who were dependent on nature for their very existence,
learned about the medicinal properties of plants through keen
observation and experimentation.
An exciting component of the Victoria General Hospital
redevelopment will be the addition of a Miracle Garden
featuring plants native to Manitoba – such as trembling
aspen, wild rose, and even the common cattail – known for
their curative properties.
