The 2011 Society is a distinguished gift-giving club whose mission is to raise $1 million for priority projects within the hospital prior
to the Vic's 100th anniversary in 2011. Members are invited to an annual private reception, where they have the opportunity to hear
about current developments and projects on the horizon at the Vic.

Over 100 people celebrated the official sod-turning for the Vic's new Emergency Centre. This state-of-the-art facility will offer
technologically advanced care for patiets and a more spacious work environment for staff.

March 21, 2009 - Hot Hot Hot
In March, the Foundation presented Hot Hot Hot, an evening of hot food, hot fashion, and hot prizes. Over 400 guests gathered
at the Fairmont Winnipeg to witness a spectacular fashion show produced by Panache Model Management.
The event raised $50,000 for the Vic's minimally invasive surgery project.

January 18, 2009 - Multi-Faith Blessing Ceremony and Open House
Over 150 people attended a multi-faith blessing ceremony and open house at the Vic's new Buhler Cancer Centre. Guests
were guided through the centre as blessings were given to different areas in the building.

November 4, 2008 - Buhler Cancer Centre Opening
The new Buhler Cancer Centre offers patients a soothing environment that promotes healing and strength. It features a
quiet room for reflection and an expanded resource centre to provide patients with answers and options. The Centre
accommodates three full-time oncologists and has dedicated space for pharmacy, social services, and nutritional services.

May 13, 2008 - A Dinner in Honour of Dr. Ian Maxwell
Over 200 colleagues, patients, and families gathered at the Caboto Centre to pay tribute to Dr. Ian Maxwell, the Vic's Medical
Director of Oncology. Dr. Maxwell was recognized for his tireless commitment to his patients and to the advancement of cancer care
and treatment at the Victoria General Hospital.

March 27, 2008 - Jewels
In March, the Vic Foundation presented Jewels, an evening of Indian music and ballet in support of the Vic’s minimally invasive surgery
program. A crowd of over 1,000 people witnessed the spectacular performance by Manohar Performing Arts of Canada at Pantages
Playhouse Theatre. The event raised almost $100,000 for the program.

January 26, 2008 - Dinner in the O.R.
Nearly 100 guests attended tested out their laporoscopic surgery skills at this fun and informative evening in support of the Vic's minimally
invasive surgery project. Surgeons and staff gave tours of the O.R. and demonstrated the latest techniques while outlining plans to convert
two of the rooms into minimally invasive suites.

October 17, 2007 – South Beach Casino $100,000 Gift
The South Beach Casino presented a $100,000 cheque to the hospital in support of the Vic's new Cancer Centre. The donation, from
the South Beach Casino Community Spirit Fund, is believed to be the first major gift by an aboriginal-owned company to a Manitoba
health facility.
