"We have witnessed the devastating effects of cancer on people near and dear to our hearts and feel blessed to have the opportunity to help ease the suffering of those battling this terrible disease by supporting the Vic's new Cancer Centre."

- John & Bonnie Buhler

Thanks to the support of hundreds of donors like John and Bonnie Buhler, the Vic's new Buhler Cancer Centre is now a reality. The 13,000 square foot addition at the front of the hospital officially opened in November. This bright and spacious new space replaces the previous Oncology Clinic, which was located in a cramped 2,400 square foot space in the basement of the hospital.

The new Buhler Cancer Centre was designed to provide staff with the resources needed to provide the best possible care for patients. It features more chemotherapy treatment spaces and exam rooms, two isolation rooms, space for three full-time oncologists, and a specialized procedure room. Treatment spaces will offer views of a new healing garden.

The Buhler Cancer Centre was named in honour of John and Bonnie Buhler, whose vision and gracious philanthropy are an inspiration to all. With their legacy of generosity and commitment to the Victoria General Hospital, they have made a positive difference to all patients who will walk through the doors of the Buhler Cancer Centre.
