Changing Lives & Saving Lives

Miracle Workers & Miracles Makers

April

"When I volunteer at the Vic, I always finish with a smile on my face. I enjoy helping  patients with the little things that are sometimes overlooked. Making a patient's day makes my day."

-Ravindi Gunasekara (third from right)

Ravindi Gunasekara is just one member of the Vic's Junior Volunteer Program, a group of teens age 17 and older who volunteer on the medical and surgical units. This dedicated group balances volunteering with school, work, and other activites. Many go on to pursue a career in health care.

Junior volunteers visit with patients, deliver water jugs and flowers, distribute meal trays, sell newspapers, operate the library cart, deliver pharmacy and lab results, and more.
