This past fall, Shoppers Drug Mart located at Pembina and Dalhousie chose to support the Victoria General Hospital through their annual Tree of Life fundraising campaign.
The Tree of Life fundraising campaign is a four-week program held by Shoppers Drug Mart locations across Canada each autumn. Each store raises funds for local health charities by encouraging staff and customers to purchase a paper leaf or apple for our store's "tree". A paper leaf may be purchased for a loonie, a maple leaf is $5, and an apple is $50. The campaign has raised over $7.1 million since 2002, and this year, hundreds of health related charities across Canada will benefit from the proceeds.
This year Shoppers Drug Mart raised over $3,700 in support of the Vic. Gifts like this make it possible for our doctors, nurses, medical staff, and researchers to have the equipment and training they need to provide the exceptional patient care for which the vic is renowned.
Special thanks to Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacist-Owner Charles Scerbo as well as the many staff and customers who so generously participated in this campaign. |
