Lesley Iredale Receives Canadian Volunteer Award
The VGH Guild is proud to announce that Lesley Iredale has been awarded the Home Instead for Seniors Salute to Senior Service Award. This national award recognizes the contribution of volunteers who are over 65 years of age who have made a significant contribution to their community. As the recipient of this award, Lesley will be presented with a plaque and Home Instead for Seniors will donate $5,000 to the VGH Guild.
Lesley worked at VGH for 21 years, first in Food Services and then as Manager of Volunteer Services. Since retiring in 1995, she has continued to contribute to VGH as a Guild volunteer. Lesley has volunteered as a Gift Shop, a member of various Guild committees, and the Guild Board executive. She has represented the Guild at both the provincial and national associations. Lesley was the Guild President from 2000-2002. She has also volunteered for the VGH Foundation and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
Over the past 35 years, Lesley has worked tirelessly to help Victoria General Hospital achieve its goals. Both the Guild and our hospital have benefitted from her leadership. We are pleased to have Lesley's efforts recognized at a national level.
Congratulations, Lesley!
