| The Guild was originally established in 1954 at the River Avenue location as an extension to the existing hospital Auxiliary. In 1970 the Auxiliary and the Guild amalgamated under the name of "Guild of the Victoria General Hospital Inc. ". In 1971 the hospital moved to the Pembina Highway site, inviting the community to become involved in the Guild as volunteers.
